Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

mySpecSheet (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how and why we collect, store, use, and share your personal information when you visit myspecsheet.com or engage with us in other related ways. We are responsible for making decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us at mySpecSheet@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register on the Services, express interest in our products, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect may include:

  • Name and email address — provided via Google OAuth when you join the waitlist.
  • Local storage flag — we store a flag in your browser's local storage to remember that you've joined the waitlist.
  • Usage data — basic page view analytics to understand how visitors use our site.

We do not process sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origins, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs), and we do not collect any information from third parties beyond what your chosen OAuth provider shares with us.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To facilitate account creation, authentication, and waitlist management
  • To notify you when mySpecSheet launches and send product updates
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide support
  • To request feedback and improve our Services
  • To send marketing and promotional communications — you can opt out at any time by contacting us
  • To identify usage trends and improve our website

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may also process your information for other purposes only with your prior explicit consent.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

If you are located in the EU or UK, the GDPR and UK GDPR require us to explain the legal bases we rely on to process your personal information:

  • Consent — We may process your information if you have given us permission for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
  • Performance of a Contract — We may process your information to fulfill our obligations to you, including providing our Services.
  • Legitimate Interests — We may process your information when reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests, such as analyzing how our Services are used and supporting our marketing activities.
  • Legal Obligations — We may process your information where necessary to comply with our legal obligations or to exercise or defend our legal rights.

5. When and With Whom We Share Your Information

We may share your personal information in the following limited situations:

  • Google — When you sign up with Google, your data is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Business Transfers — We may share or transfer your information in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.

We have not disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose. We will not sell or share personal information belonging to website visitors, users, or consumers.

6. How We Handle Social Logins

Our Services allow you to register using your Google account. When you choose to do this, we receive only your name and email address from Google — we do not request or store your profile picture, friends list, or any other profile data. We use this information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Please note that we are not responsible for how Google uses your personal information — we recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy to understand their practices.

7. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing our Services from outside the US — including from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland — your information may be transferred to, stored by, and processed in the United States. Data protection laws in the US may not be as comprehensive as those in your country. We will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. We will not retain your personal information for longer than three (3) months following the termination of your account or waitlist entry. When we have no ongoing legitimate need to process your information, we will delete or anonymize it. If deletion is not immediately possible (e.g., because information is stored in backup archives), we will securely isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.

9. Data Storage & Security

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know whether or not we are processing your personal data
  • Right to access and obtain a copy of your personal data
  • Right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data
  • Right to request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to data portability (where applicable)
  • Right to object to or restrict processing of your personal data
  • Right to opt out of marketing and promotional communications
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

If you are located in the EEA or UK and believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or the UK data protection authority. If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Withdrawing consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Opting out of marketing: You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by contacting us. We may still send service-related messages necessary to administer your account.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at myspecsheet.com/support or mySpecSheet@gmail.com. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature you can activate to signal that you do not wish to have your browsing activity monitored. At this time, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

12. US State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have additional rights under applicable state data protection laws, including the right to request access to, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and the right to withdraw consent to our processing of your personal information.

To exercise these rights, visit myspecsheet.com/support or email mySpecSheet@gmail.com. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by contacting us, and if your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.

13. Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage solely to remember your waitlist sign-up status so you see a confirmation instead of the sign-up form on return visits.

14. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to anyone under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If we learn that personal information from a user under 18 has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to stay compliant with relevant laws. Changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice or by directly contacting you. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

16. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or to review, update, or delete your personal information, contact us at mySpecSheet@gmail.com or visit myspecsheet.com/support.
